The Olympic games have always been the crown jewel of athletic competition. When athletes compete from all over the world it truly captures the imagination of the entire world as they compete for the gold medals.
This grand spectacle was the inspiration for this project. I wanted to catalog some of the more unique gold medal designs throughout the years of the Olympic games. I created a poster series that could potentially travel around to various museums, college campuses, or sporting venues to promote the history of the games, as well as the designs of the medals.
For each year I selected, I tried to capture the unique personality of those specific games in relation to the designs of the medals.
Programs used for this project: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
